Felix Thümmler

With a passion for offensive security and security research

Felix is a Cybersecurity Consultant at Mint Secure and helps companies secure their systems against modern forms of attack in a sustainable manner. His areas of expertise include offensive security, security research, and incident response.

His professional career began in IT administration, where he gained extensive experience with Windows and Linux infrastructures. Initially, he administered Windows system environments of various sizes—ranging from a small Berlin startup to multinational corporations. He then became part of a team responsible for the operation and expansion of a data center. During this time, Felix gained extensive experience in system administration and network technology.

During his studies, he discovered his passion for IT security through the HTW-Hackt university group. There, he deepened his knowledge in the areas of penetration testing and security research, successfully participated in international Capture-the-Flag competitions, and led workshops on radio and hardware hacking.

Today, Felix focuses on uncovering vulnerabilities in complex system environments. As part of his security research, he has already registered several CVE entries for discovered security vulnerabilities. His research helps identify security vulnerabilities early on and makes society more resilient to attacks.

Felix advocates a practical, scientifically grounded approach to cybersecurity. His motto: “Only those who can explain something have truly understood it.”
That is why he advocates for the open exchange of knowledge and is helping to nurture tomorrow’s security researchers today.
